Full blog and recipe of Mint Hummus.

Table of contents:

Hummus, the beloved Middle Eastern dip made from chickpeas, is a staple on many appetizer platters. But have you ever tried it with a refreshing twist of mint? Mint hummus offers a delightful variation on the traditional recipe, infusing the creamy dip with a burst of cool, herbal flavor that’s perfect for spring and summer gatherings.

Why Mint?

What sets mint hummus apart is, of course, the addition of fresh mint leaves. Mint brings a cooling sensation and a bright, herbaceous flavor to the creamy base of chickpeas. It’s a match made in culinary heaven, offering a contrast to the earthiness of the legumes and adding a layer of complexity to the dip.

A Simple Blend

Making mint hummus is as easy as blending a few simple ingredients together. While traditional hummus recipes call for tahini, you can skip it in this version, letting the mint take center stage. Simply combine cooked chickpeas, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and of course, fresh mint leaves in a food processor, and blend until smooth. Adjust the seasonings to taste, and you’re done!

Serving Suggestions

Like its classic counterpart, mint hummus is incredibly versatile. Serve it as a dip alongside your favorite vegetables, crackers, or pita bread. It’s also delicious spread on sandwiches or wraps, adding a pop of flavor and creaminess.
