Vegetable Poha

Poha is a popular Indian Breakfast. Batata (Potato) Poha is a famous form of Poha but here I am making "Vegetable Poha" in my way by using more vegetables besides only potato.


  • 200 gm Poha
  • 1/4 cup Mustard oil
  • 1 pinch powdered hing
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds (Rai)
  • 1/4 cup Raw Peanuts
  • 1/4 cup Broken Cashew
  • 1/2 cup Raw Potato finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Peas
  • 1/4 cup Capsicum Chopped
  • 1 Green Chili Chopped
  • 1/4 Cup Onion Finely Chopped
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder (haldi)
  • 1/2 cup Tomato Chopped
  • 1.5 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1/8 cup lemon juice
  • chopped coriander


  • Take the Poha (rice Flakes) & wash it gently in running water
  • Take mustard oil in a pan and wait till it gets heated
  • Add a pinch of Hing and mustard seeds
  • When mustard seed crackle, add raw peanuts and broken cashew in it and saute till slight change in colour
  • Add finely chopped raw potato and saute it till half cooked
  • Then add peas and cover the pan with a lid till all the peas crackle
  • Add chopped capsicum, green chilli in it. Mix it well
  • Add onion if you want
  • Add Turmeric powder (Haldi) and mix it well
  • Now add washed poha in it
  • Add Tomato, Turmeric Powder (Haldi), Salt, red chilli powder, lemon juice and coriander in it
  • Mix well with light hands
  • Your super delicious "Vegetable Poha" is ready
  • Serve it hot with your favourite spicy mixture of namkeen
